Charles Goodyear Jr. is widely credited with writing a new chapter in the history of men's shoes as he patented the Goodyear welted machine, which was introduced into Tricker’s at the turn of the 20th Century. 
Ernest Baltrop
The son of Walter Barltrop, born in 1869, Ernest was incredibly involved in the evolving design of our footwear. He devoted his life to making the name “Tricker’s” stand for the highest quality shoes and boots.

Sir Edmund Hillary
In 1960 Sir Edmund Hillary made a special commission from Tricker’s for boots to be made for himself and his Himalayan expedition team, for his forthcoming Himalayan geographical ascent of Ama Dablam, a 6,812m mountain.
Walter James Baltrop
Born in 1840, Walter was very much ahead of his time and age. At just seven years old, he created a modern boot.
