Bourton Country Shoe
Bourton is our iconic men’s country shoe. These shoes are a piece of Northampton shoemaking history, and yet today they are the go-to shoe for men all around the world. The Bourton is unmistakable - a heavy Derby shoe that bears the brogue detailing synonymous with true country shoes. A half bellows tongue is folded and attached to the shoe to provide a watertight seal, and the storm welt provides an additional waterproof seal between the shoe's upper and sole.
Our ‘Lightweight’ sole construction has been used which entails removing the midsole or ‘through’ as it's traditionally known. This removes weight and adds flexibility without compromising on quality or durability. To finish it off we have used a classic leather sole to give a refined traditional look.
For this Autumn / Winter season we have created a special collection using exclusive Olivvia Scotchgrain. Scotchgrain got its name traditionally as it lined scotch whisky barrels which made it extremely strong and long lasting, it is visually recognisable because of the deep grain in the leather, generally giving shoes and boots a robust, textured aesthetic. Olivvia tanning is gentle and therefore the hides remain supple and often feel worn in from the first wear.
Olivvia Leather is exclusive to Tricker’s and is tanned using Olive leaves, this is fully sustainable and every piece of waste in the process can go back into the land. You can rest assured that Olivvia is truly sustainable, exceeding every standard set by those who created the tanning liquor. Tricker’s is honoured to be the only shoemaker in the world using Olivvia leather.
This classic black colourway is perfect for all occasions.
