Tricker's Robert Mens Derby Shoe in Marron Muflone Grain Leather
Our reimagined Derby shoe combines clean lines, five blind eyelets, and a shallow profile created through a single leather sole and storm welt. Robert has all the looks of a classic country shoe, yet none of the weight; at Tricker’s we call this group of shoes ‘Ultra-flex.’ Our Ultra-flex range has unlined uppers and single leather soles to provide flexible, slipper-like comfort but without compromising the quality and durability.
For this Spring / Summer season we have introduced Muflone, a deeply grained leather that has been dried in drums for softness and texture. The result is a lovely finish, perfect to highlight the characteristics of a true pair of Northampton shoes.
As with all of our shoes and boots, each pair of Robert shoes are handmade within our Northampton factory in England by craftsmen and women using traditional methods, and to the same exacting standards that first established our reputation. There are 260 processes used to make each pair from start to finish.
Our uncompromising standards of craftsmanship, and use of honest materials, are values that have been preserved and developed through five generations and are observed as resolutely today as they were in 1829. When you choose Tricker’s, you never have to choose between practicality, durability and style.
Colour Information
Our Muflone Marron has lovely rich autumnal tones and plenty of character - the finish veers between light tones of acorn and darker areas of rich brown. Not to be confused with Marron Antique used across our classic ranges.
About Robert
Robert is comfortable and hard-wearing and has the timeless look of a stylish derby shoe. The Robert Derby shoe can be identified by its “open” lacing system, meaning that its eyelet tabs are stitched on top of the shoe’s vamp. With its “open lace” construction, the Robert is suitable for a wider fit and higher in-step. This ensures more comfort compared to an Oxford shoe which has a tighter lacing system.
The Robert is classic and comfortable and like many of our styles they are very suitable for formal occasions and their sleek and simplistic appearance lends itself well to casual and smart casual outfits. As such, derby shoes can work just as well with a pair of jeans as they can with wool trousers.
Leather Information
Muflone is a deeply grained, yearling leather that is softened in wet drums, and then tumbled in dry drums which give it its softness and texture. Burnishing on Muflone leather is achieved by a second vegetable tanning process which allows the leather to bruise.
Our Muflone Marron has lovely rich autumnal tones and plenty of character - the finish veers between light tones of acorn and darker areas of rich brown. Not to be confused with Marron Antique used across our classic ranges.
We advise using a neutral polish to help maintain these shoes.
