About Elthea

The name “Elthea” as a brand name was a play on words with” Healthier”, early marketing from 1905, as the shoes were able to keep the feet dry.

The Elthea 9060 Derby Tramping Shoe has been crafted with inspiration from the Tricker’s archives, from back in 1926. Elthea radiates our heritage and is typically Tricker’s with its build, a classic Country Tramping Shoe. Elthea celebrates 100 years of the Tramping Shoe.

Built on the 4497S last, with a full bellows tongue, natural welt, and brass eyelets, this edition has a commando sole with no through. The lightweight commando sole is our classic Tramping rubber outsole. Known for its sturdy tread, the lightweight commando sole offers great traction and weather resistance, whilst maintaining a rugged profile.

We have built Elthea 9060 with no through. This makes the shoe more lightweight and flexible than our standard Country Footwear. This is not to be mistaken with Ultraflex.

Available in Navy, Cafe, and Burnt Sugar, made out of Olivvia Buffalo Nubuck leather.

Leather Information

We have used Olivvia Buffalo Nubuck for this makeup. Olivvia is a special tanning brew that uses the leaves of Olives. This brew has been patented and is named Olivenleder®️.

Olivenleder®️ is an entirely organic brew and all waste can be used as a natural fertilizer, including the leaves and leather shavings. The olive leaves are entirely sustainable and are a by-product of the Olive Oil industry, millions of which fall during the Olive harvest and are traditionally burnt. Olivvia is sustainable, luxurious leather, with no tricks.

Buffalo Nubuck is very reliable and known for its softness, strength, and durability. The fiber of the buffalo leather is coarser and stronger than in cowhide. The resulting grain structure is appreciated by connoisseurs of the rich, deep tones which give it a striking appearance.

With appropriate care, buffalo leather will last a lifetime, developing a rich patina over time, which enhances the beauty of the leather.

Built to Last

As with all of our shoes and boots, each pair of Elthea Derby Tramping Shoes are handmade within our Northampton factory in England by craftsmen and women using traditional methods, and to the same exacting standards that first established our reputation. There are 260 construction processes used to make each pair from start to finish.

Our story is one of uncompromising standards of craftsmanship and use of honest materials, which are values that have been preserved and developed through five generations and are observed as resolutely today as they were in 1829. When you choose Tricker’s, you never have to choose between practicality, durability and style.

Since 1989, Tricker's has held a Royal Warrant for shoe manufacturing awarded by His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales.
