If you’re looking to upgrade your footwear suitable for the forthcoming winter weather, our first-ever Cross Hatch collection for men may be of interest.
While we want to add new designs and finishes to our ranges, we realise the importance of staying true to the Tricker’s reputation for outstanding manufacturing and quality.
Known as the shoemaker for country shoes and boots, we look for ways to update our core styles. One route is to search for unique leathers or different finishes which will breathe new life into iconic ranges.
For AW18, we have done this for our Bourton brogue shoe and Stow boot.
What is Cross Hatch Leather?
Our collection is made using full grain calf leather. The cross hatch grain effect is stamped into the leather on a machine at the tannery. This gives it its unmistakable diagonal pattern.
The leather is finished with a wax treatment that makes it extremely hard-wearing, durable and easy to clean. It also helps prevents scratches and cracks.
Another great characteristic of cross hatch is that it is renowned for its water-resistant qualities.
The Bourton and Stow are available in both burgundy and tan, with matching outsole and welt, finished on the ever-popular Dainite sole.
Bourton brogue shoe – Our iconic heavy brogue Derby country shoe features half bellows tongue and storm welt, with leather uppers and linings.
Please note: Bourton is built on our 4444 last. Celebrating 81 years, it was originally designed to be worn with very thick socks. The sizing is therefore fairly generous, and today, most people choose a half size smaller than they usually take.
Stow boot – Our classic heavy brogue Derby country boot features seven eyelets, half bellows tongue, storm welt, leather uppers and linings.
Built on our 4479S last, sizing is true to a UK standard size.
How to care for Cross Hatch:
- – Remove dirt or marks with a clean cloth.
- – Use a neutral polish then buff with another clean cloth.
- – Use wax polish to weather proof protection.
- – Keep your footwear in their shoe bags provided to prevent damage.
- – Use shoe trees to help maintain shape.
