However, for many decades we have designed an array of different styles to suit all seasons and weathers.
While exploring our archives, we recently rediscovered a summer rambler shoe. Evoking a wholesome atmosphere of camping, hiking and outdoor picnics, this particular range was a best-seller in the 1950s and 60s.
Reissued in the late 70s and early 80s, the style eventually disappeared, until now.
We also wanted to finish the shoe with the original 70s sole. After a lot of research, we discovered the British manufacturer had ceased trading. But this didn’t deter us. After further investigation, we finally traced another UK company who had purchased the mouldings from the original maker. They were delighted to reproduce this sole especially for Tricker’s which meant we could recreate the collection as authentically as possible.
Consisting of three different styles, the summer rambler collection features:
Alvin – Plain derby shoe
Hank – Chukka boot with ski hook fastenings
Ivan – Ghillie lace brogue.
The thistle toe design references the Scottish origin of this shoe.
Although the new/old sole is extremely light in weight, its incredibly tough and durable. Which means, this collection sits very comfortably next to our traditional country shoes and boots.
The Rambler collection is built on our popular 2298 last which is true to size.
